Launch of the ULG Mentoring Programme - 31st July

This year we are piloting a mentoring programme for 10 second year university law students, where the students will be mentored by solicitors (members of ULG) to help guide them through specific job challenges and to go on to secure a training contract before the end of their undergraduate studies. 

We draw on our own first-hand experiences of life practising as solicitors and offer practical advice and personal guidance on how best students can work towards forging a career in law.  Our mentoring programme is open to students from backgrounds not traditionally associated with law, who have attended state schools and who may have been the first in their families to go to university. Student must have researched the opportunities of a career in a City law firm; be planning to apply for training contracts at commercial law firms and want to develop an understanding of the realities of being a commercial lawyer at a City law firm.

Applications for our mentoring programme is by CV and covering letter; outline your interest in benefitting from our mentoring, detail any relevant experience and the areas you would like to develop with the guidance of a legal practitioner. The mentoring programme will begin this autumn once students return to university for the new academic year.
